01 — Narrative & advocacy strategy

Turning your story into a
meaningful
pitch to government.

Inside Pitch helps aligned businesses and organisations (think renewable energy developers, environmental advocacy groups and social policy peak bodies) sharpen their pitch before it goes in front of government — so what you’re asking for is clear, the story holds, and someone can actually act on it.

02 — What I do

Services

Most of my work is with the documents behind the pitch — decks, briefs, proposals. Either reviewing or developing a specific piece, or alongside a team while they prepare.

Fees: Smaller pieces of work are a fixed fee. Larger pieces of work and ongoing support can be project based or scoped as a retainer. Not sure what you need? Get in touch and I’ll suggest an approach and give you a quote.

03 — About

About Me

I’m Kathleen - I'm a policy nerd with a background in strategic communications and a passion for clear, persuasive narratives that shift the dial.

My background spans policy, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and media. I’ve worked inside government writing briefs, submissions and advice, and earlier in my career in journalism, local government and federal politics. My work has taken me across renewable energy, social policy and community-sector organisations.

I’ve reviewed a lot of material put forward for government over the years. The same issues come up:

  • too much detail that doesn’t matter, but not enough detail to answer key questions.
  • no clear connection between problem and solution.
  • an ask that’s too vague or just not realistic.
  • material that doesn’t line up with how decisions are made.

That’s the gap I focus on.

Good ideas don’t stall because they’re weak. They stall because they’re not communicated in a way that’s easy to engage with or act on.

My approach is straightforward: get clear on what actually matters, sharpen the ask, and make it easier for your audience to act.
